The deadline for registering for a postal vote in the 2010 UK General Election was 20 April 2010.

We are now unable to process any applications / requests for a postal vote until after the 6 May 2010.

Anyone can apply to vote by post but you will have to complete an application form. Once the application form has been completed and your name added on to the list of postal voters you will be sent a letter of confirmation.

You can apply for a postal vote for a indefinite or temporary period and you can also specify which elections you would like a postal vote for. Please note that should you change your address you will have to apply again for a postal vote.

Before the election you will be sent a polling card advising you of your postal voting arrangement and the dates you should expect the delivery of your ballot paper postal pack to arrive.

When your ballot paper postal pack has arrived it will contain your ballot paper, a brown ballot paper envelope, a postal voting statement and a white return envelope.

Once you have marked your ballot paper in secret and sealed it up in the brown envelope you must complete the security statement by entering you date of birth and signature on the statement. Both the security statement and brown envelope containing your ballot paper should be placed inside the white return envelope ensuring the address showing through the envelope window is reading Wyre Borough Council. You then need to seal the envelope and post it back.

Please ensure that the statement is completed with your signature and correct date of birth as failure to do this will make your vote invalid.

If you require a postal vote, you can download, complete and return the form below.
