Area Action Plan for Fleetwood and Thornton - Addendum

At the Exploratory meeting with the Inspector it was agreed that the Council would undertake further work to establish a robust and clear Implementation and Monitoring Frameworks. The work would require a detailed Transport Assessment to address implications for the A585.

Also at the meeting Council officers indicated that in principle they would support a new District Centre subject to further retail and sustainability information to be submitted by NPL. The purpose of this Addendum is to set out proposed changes to the submitted AAP for public comment.

Proposed Amendments to the Submission Document

As a result of the Council's consideration of representations on the Submitted Document and additional work undertaken since June a number of changes, are proposed to policies and text in the Submitted Document. In addition, the opportunity has been taken to improve the wording and structure of all policies to improve their clarity. These are set out in Parts A, B and C of the Addendum.

Further 6 Week Consultation

In order to ensure that public participation in the AAP process is not prejudiced, the Council has decided to carry out a further six-week consultation on proposed amendments to the Submission Document. The Inspector will consider the impact of these revisions on the soundness of the submitted AAP taking into account any comments received.

Comments are invited only on this Addendum. The submitted document is not subject to further consultation. The consultation starts on 9am Wednesday 8th October 2008 until 9am Wednesday 19th November 2008.
