Bees
Bees are beneficial to the environment and are responsible for pollination of trees and flowers. There are a number of different species, the common ones being honey, bumble, mason and solitary bees which nest in a variety of places, such as holes in trees, soft earth, and cavities in buildings.
Bees are not regarded as pests.
If there is a problem with bees swarming or their chosen nesting site creating a serious risk of being stung you can seek advice from the Pest Control Officers or from a local beekeeper. In either case there will probably be a charge for any service provided but the beekeeper is unlikely to destroy the bees particularly if they are honeybees as these are declining in numbers.
