Council Tax Banding

Valuations are carried out by the Valuation Office, which is part of the Inland Revenue, not part of the Council. Therefore all enquiries regarding Council Tax Banding should be directed to:

Each dwelling (i.e. house, flat, bungalow etc.) is placed in a Band according to its value.

Values are not today's values but are 1991 values; that is, the Valuation Office decides how much the property would probably have been sold for if it had been sold on 01/04/1991.

Properties and their bands are listed in a Valuation List and anybody may look at these lists. Copies of the Wyre Valuation List are held at the Valuation Office and at Wyre Borough Council's Civic Centre.
