Wyre Community Safety Partnership
The Wyre Community Safety Partnership (WCSP) provides a structure to unite local community, voluntary and public organisations, businesses and individuals to contribute to issues of community safety across Wyre.
Partnership Plan 2008-2001
How does the Partnership work?
The document below illustrates the current partnership structure and its relationship between the Wyre Strategic Partnership and the local community.
Each member of the Partnership is responsible for:
- Positively promoting the work and initiatives which develop through the WCSP Action Group.
- Informing and reporting back to parent organisations and implementing appropriate action.
The Steering Group
The Steering Group is responsible for the WCSP Strategy. It is a multi-agency group where representatives of the organisations are at a senior management level in order to ensure that agreed actions are implemented and their agency will be involved in delivering at a local level.
The Sub Groups
The Partnership is divided into multi-agency sub groups to specifically deal with issues of community safety. The sub groups are as follows:
- Alcohol and Drugs Harm Reduction Group
- Quality of Life Group
- Domestic Abuse Reduction Group
- PSA1, Fire and Road Safety Group
- MAPS - Neighbourhood Management and Offender Management Group
- CCTV Strategy Group
The sub groups work closely with a range of agencies to address local issues raised by the local community.
The issues are addressed using a range of methods including:
- The SARA problem solving approach - Scanning (researching and identifying the local problems), Analysis (determine the root cause of the problem), Response (develop written action plans that describe the response to the problems) and Assessment (evaluate their actions).
- Best Value - consult, challenge, compare and compete.
- Measurement of progress through, but not confined to, local targets and statistics. These should be specific, measurable achievable, realistic and time scaled.
- Supporting the community, recognising the diversity that exists and promoting community cohesion.
- Engaging with the community at every stage of its work.
