Garstang Walking Festival has been hailed a huge success.
A packed programme of events and activities attracted hundreds to Wyre's stunning countryside.
There was even an appearance by 'friend of the festival' Fred Talbot, who tried out Garstang's new pub heritage trail during a whistle stop tour of the area.
One new element that went down particularly well is the Super 8 walk, which combined a bus ride from Garstang with a ramble to Scorton along the Lancaster Canal and has now been incorporated in the Active Wyre programme later in the year.
Alison Boden, Countryside Manager, said: "Many of the events attracted far more people than we anticipated, some coming a considerable distance. More encouragingly, there were a fair number of new faces this year.
"There was a real buzz about the festival and at the end of the four-day Wyre Way challenge it was great to see participants swapping contact details.
"We're now making plans for next year's festival so watch this space."
