Our Performance
Targets are set nationally for the determination of planning applications. These targets are referred to as National Indicators (NI's)
The NI for the determination of planning applications are as follows:
- 60% of major residential, industrial and commercial applications should be determined in 13 weeks or less.
- 65% of minor residential, industrial and commercial applications should be determined in 8 weeks or less.
- 80% of all other applications should be determined within 8 weeks.
In the year 2008/2009 we dealt with:
- 88% of major residential, industrial and commercial applications within 13 weeks.
- 89% of minor residential, industrial and commercial applications within 8 weeks.
- 97% of all other applications including householder within 8 weeks.
In the year 2007/2008 we dealt with:
- 86% of major residential, industrial and commercial applications within 13 weeks.
- 88% of minor residential, industrial and commercial applications within 8 weeks.
- 95% of all other applications including householder within 8 weeks.
In the year 2006 / 2007 we dealt with:
- 94% of major residential, industrial and commercial applications within 13 weeks.
- 90% of minor residential, industrial and commercial applications within 8 weeks.
- 95% of all other applications including householder within 8 weeks.
In the year 2005 / 2006 we dealt with:
- 46% of major residential, industrial and commercial applications within 13 weeks.
- 77% of minor residential, industrial and commercial applications within 8 weeks.
- 93% of all other applications including householder within 8 weeks.

Since April 2006 we have continued to improve our performance. Where a 0% is indicated for major applications, this is due to no such applications being determined in that particular month.

We review our performance targets every year and have plans in place to continue to improve our performance. We publish details of our targets and performance in the Council's free newspaper (Wyre Voice), which is delivered to households across the Borough and in the Service Units Newsletter which is produced twice a year.
