Alcohol and Drugs Harm Reduction Group
The Alcohol and Drugs Harm Reduction Group is a subgroup of the Wyre Community Safety Partnership.
The Government published the Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy for England. This was the first attempt to bring together Government interventions to prevent, minimise and manage alcohol related harm.
WCSP are committed to tackling issues surrounding alcohol and drug related harm and these were identified as a key priority following crime and disorder audits of 2004.

Projects
- Wyre Pubwatch is a scheme set up to reduce alcohol related harm and involves regular meetings with licensees and their staff to share best practice.
- Designated Public Places Orders (DPPO) are currently being assessed for implementation throughout areas of Wyre, which will involve a full consultation with all Wyre residents.
- WCSP will be producing an overarching Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy in 2008.
